CHASING ELDORADO

Hello

I wrote a song for you again

I don't you if you want it but I'll sing it anyway

I have been running down this highway

But its a road that never ends

The dreams I had are fading

Like old letters never sent

I've been chasing Eldorado

from old bar stools

If I leave here tomorrow

I know they'll find someone new

A dreamer just like I was

they're never running out of fools

but the gates of Eldorado

was not made for passing through

So

I got my heart for you right here

take it as it is

or I’ll let the bruises disappear

Anyway you you want me

As long as I get paid

I got three kids and a house

and the fourth is on her way

There’s a glimpse of Eldorado

in the echoes of my songs

With every line and every melody

I've tried to right my wrongs

For every star that fades away

A new one steps upon the stage

But the gates of Eldorado

keep the secrets locked away

So long

I've seen faces come and go

So young and hopeful

But they'll learn what I've come to know

that chasing Eldorado's just

A never-ending game

And when they find they're out of time

They’ll be just another name

I've been longing Eldorado

In the twilight of my days

With every tune and every memory

I've tried to find my way

For every soul that's come and gone

The dream remains alive

But the gates of Eldorado

are a sure hard to find

But maybe there's a silver lining

In the songs I've left to share

And someday someone else will find

their path is leading there.

Maybe a dreamer just like I was

Let them say you are a fool

The gates of Eldorado

might just open up for you
